It's nice to see P&W make the deliberate decision to place the airlines grounded fleet above the production demands of airbus. Airlines being grounded negatively impacts decision maker and consumer sentiment. Manufacturer supply chain woes negatively impact delivery schedule and capacity in production. If I were United technologies I would rather deliver a reliable product late that screw those making operational purchasing decisions. The GTF engine while efficient is defective and comes with significant maintenance and inspection needs making reliability unsustainable for the utilization needs of a modern airline.
Pratt screwed the pooch with metal defects in the production process. They acted way too lazily to address or compensate for their defects. A colossal leadership failure.
