I saw a lady at my favorite restaurant sitting in a chair. She must have weighed 500 lbs. I'm surprised the chair held her.
With American's waist lines increasing exponentially i would not want to be in the chair business. If a jumbo sits on a chair and it breaks and they break a hip, there's likely a law suit.
I wonder what kind of manufacturing technology is used to insure the structural integrity of a chair nowadays? Cold weld, x-ray technology? Advanced alloys? Old school dovetail joints?
On one hand pretty fascinating. On the other, pretty sad.
